The 2009 Season Championships have been run... and the Champions have been crowned. In no particular order, the 2009 Casino Speedway Track Point Champions are: Casino Cruiser - Marcy Rossow, Florence (SD); WISSOTA Late Model - Kent Arment, Aberdeen (SD); WISSOTA Street Stock - Wade Tirrel, White (SD); WISSOTA Modified - Scott Ward, Watertown (SD). The Casino Speedway congratulates not only the track champions, but all competitors for another successful racing season.
Not only were the champions crowned but their was some awful good racing last night at the speedway. In the WISSOTA modified feature, Andy Gordon of Murdock, MN took home the feature hardware, crossing the finish line ahead of Watertown's Todd Stark and Scott Ward. The modified heat races were dominated by Watertown drivers... Scott Ward, J.R. Ward and Joel Waba each picked up a win.
In the WISSOTA late model feature, Chad Williamson of Watertown snared his second feature win in as many weeks over Aberdeen's Curt Gelling and Chad Becker. The late model heat races were won by Williamson and Kent Arment of Aberdeen.
In the WISSOTA Street Stock feature, Wade Tirrel finished out the season where he began by crossing the finishing line ahead of Adam Butterfield of Watertown and Tony Konold of Clear Lake. The street stock heat races were won by Jason Marko of Watertown, Reed Storley of Watertown and David Orr of Bristol.
In the casino cruiser division, Tim Nisich of Watertown picked up the feature win. Doug Jenner of Watertown and Marlin Snell of Milbank rounded out the top three. Jenner and Snell each won their respective casino cruiser heat races.
Racing continues next Saturday evening for the Casino Fall Shootout at 7 p.m.
