Tirrel Double Dips

Six A-mains were run last night at the Casino Speedway. Four regularly scheduled features and the make-up of WISSOTA Street Stock and Casino Cruiser features originally scheduled for June 8th.

In WISSOTA Street Stocks, Wade Tirrel grabbed the regularly schedule feature by out-distancing David Orr of Bristol and Reed Storley of Watertown. Tirrel and Storley won the heat races.

Wade Tirrel finished the evening sweep of the Street Stock features taking the checkered flag in front of Tony Konold of Clear Lake and Reed Storley. The heat races, completed on June 8th, were won by Tirrel and Konold. Wade Tirrel leads the WISSOTA Street track standings with a 28 point lead over fellow White, SD driver Chad Willmott.

In WISSOTA Modified action, #37 Scott Ward of Watertown snared his second consecutive feature win out-pacing Chris Prussman of Brookings and Joel Waba of Watertown. JR Ward of Watertown and Chad Becker of Aberdeen were the Modified heat race winners. Joel Waba currently leads the Modified track point standings over Scott Ward by just 2 points.

In the June 8th make-up Casino Cruiser feature, Marcy Rossow of Florence grabbed the lead early on and held off Watertown drivers Laurie Ward and Tim Nisich to earn her second feature win of the year. In the heat races completed June 8th, Marcy and Bradley Rossow were the winners.

In the second Cruiser feature of the evening, Tim Nisich also picked up his second A-main victory of the year. Doug Jenner of Watertown and Darren Mork of Bellingham, MN finished second and third respectively. The heat race winners were Nisich, Marcy Rossow of Florence and Caleb McGuire of Watertown. Marcy Rossow also leads the track point standings with a 11 point advantage over Nisich.

In WISSOTA Late Model action, Chad Becker of Aberdeen duplicated his efforts of last week by winning the A-main. Fellow Aberdeen drivers Curt Gelling and Shawn Malsam rounded out the top three. The heat races were won by Gelling and Kent Arment of Aberdeen. After Sunday night's show, Arment maintained a 25 point lead over Gelling in the Late Model track standings.

The racing action continues this Sunday night, July 6th at 7 pm. for the Casino Speedway Mid-Season Championship with a fireworks display after the show. And then don't forget about Thursday, July 10th at 7 pm... The Dart Late Model Challenge Series invades the Casino Speedway. There is nothing like a Late Model feature with 24 cars competing. You don't want to miss it!!
