Three New Faces In The Winner's Circle

With the make-up of the June 8th Modified feature, a total of five features were run Sunday evening at the Casino Speedway and three drivers picked up their first feature wins of the 2008 race season.

Wade Tirrel of White, last year's track champion, nipped Tony Konold of Clear Lake at the finish line in the WISSOTA Street Stock feature. Reed Storley of Watertown finished third. Street Stock heat race winners were Tirrel and fellow White, SD driver, Chad Willmott.

In the WISSOTA Modified feature, #9 Kent Arment of Aberdeen picked up his third win of the season. Chad Becker of Aberdeen and Scott Ward of Watertown finished second and third respectively. Becker and Dustin Beebe of Watertown each won Modified heat races.

The Florence Duo of Bradley and Marcy Rossow finished one-two in the Casino Cruisers feature with Bradley getting his first win of the season. Dustin Holtquist of Milbank rounded out the top three. The Cruiser heat races were won by Holquist, Laurie Ward of Watertown and Marlin Snell of Milbank.

In WISSOTA Late Model action, Chad Williamson of Watertown grabbed the lead halfway through the A-Main and held on to snare his first win of the season. Fellow Aberdeen drivers Curt Gelling and Kent Arment finished second and third. Chad Becker of Aberdeen and David McDonald of Huron topped the Late Model heat races.

In the make-up of the June 8th WISSOTA Modified feature, Jordan Foster of Henry, SD topped Jay Triplett of Brookings and Joel Waba of Watertown. It was Jordan's first ever WISSOTA Modified feature win. Josh Fleming of Watertown, Todd Stark of Watertown and Kent Arment of Aberdeen each won the Modified heat races last week before the weather halted action.

The racing action continues next Sunday night at 7 pm... And don't forget also next week is the Team Electronics USMTS Summer Slam on Thursday, June 26. Jon Tesch of Watertown and his fellow USMTS drivers invade the Casino Speedway in what promises to be the fastest-paced action of the year.
